An additional email server and more domains
We got some reports several sites are not allowing users to register with our domains, We just installed some more and also added another email server to handle the load.
CloudFlare were down and so were we.
We were down for 1 hour today due to some routing problems in CloudFlare which were operating our DNS. I moved the DNS hosting back to go daddy, hopefully this will make things better.
more than 50 million emails processed
This week marks Air Mail’s passing 50 million emails which went through our system, user base keeps growing and I have added more domains and also started to operate proxies so we have better up time and less black listing.
This is a good opportunity to thank all the users who keep writing with suggestions and alerts us when things need improvements. Thank you !
Serving visitors from 170 countries
Air Mail is has served visitors from 170 counties Most poplar in Japan and USA. But we also have visitors from all over the globe. Since Launch we have served over 300K visitors and the unique visitors count keeps growing monthly by 10-20%.

Processing over a million messages per day
Operating a temporary email service has interesting technical challenges as you have to keep optimizing your system to receive more and more incoming emails as more and more accounts are created.
One an account is created, it receives several emails usually every day, once an inbox is deleted, we do not reject emails but keep accepting them as if the inbox is still operational.
Yesterday our email servers crossed the 1 million emails per day mark actually processed 1.2 million, out of these only about 4% are for active accounts all the rest are just vaporized by our mail server before they get anywhere.
Many of the incoming mails are from Facebook registrations, I wonder how many out of the 1 billion Facebook accounts are fake …
